Alpha One-Day Retreat
We’re excited to invite you to our very first Alpha One-Day Retreat! This special day is all about going deeper—exploring who the Holy Spirit is, experiencing the power of prayer, and creating space to grow closer to one another in community.
Everyone is welcome, whether you’re currently in Alpha, an alum, or simply curious to learn more about the person and work of the Holy Spirit. Come expectant for what God might do!
An optional Chick-fil-A lunch will be available for $15, but the real feast will be the conversations, connections, and encouragement we’ll share together.

Spiritual Direction
Together, we'll explore spiritual direction and other forms of spiritual companioning through teaching, testimonies, and an opportunity to practice. Learn how to discern when spiritual direction might be helpful, and discover next steps if you’re interested in receiving or learning to offer this kind of care. Lunch provided! Join us in the Fireside Room.

We’re so excited to celebrate Fall Baby Dedications during both of our morning services. This is a beautiful moment for families to commit to raising their children in the love and ways of Jesus, and for our church family to come alongside them in support and prayer.

Men's Retreat
Take massive action. Step away. Step into brotherhood.
Last year, 50 men gathered at Mount Hermon for our first retreat with the theme Keep Your Garden. It was honest, intergenerational, and surprisingly powerful: elders and younger men alike teaching, sharing, and hanging out together.
This year we’re building on that foundation. Expect solid teaching from Mike Laine, Kent Laws, Steve Johnson and others, plus space to reflect on themes from both Scripture and Morgan Snyder's book Becoming a King. No prep required—just showing up is enough. You’ll find authentic fellowship, great food, a T-shirt and swag included, and plenty of free time to enjoy downtown Santa Cruz or the beach.
Details
Cost: $300 (covers lodging, meals, a T-shirt and swag)
Location: Mount Hermon Camp & Conference Center
Scholarships: Contact Dane at dane@vc.church

Sisterhood Night
Join us for Sisterhood Night!
Sisterhood Night, previously called The Well, is a gathering for women from every generation and we would love to have you there!
We are excited to welcome guest speaker Julie Fowler, who will share a message about our God who sees and knows us. Julie Fowler is an author, speaker, pastoral care leader, and the executive director of Julie Fowler Ministries, a nonprofit devoted to helping women discover God’s comfort and hope. Out of her own journey through waiting and loss, Julie has become passionate about encouraging women with the truth of Scripture and the assurance that God sees them in every season.
She is the author of two Bible studies and has spoken for MOPS International, The NEST, and on several podcasts including Don’t Mom Alone and Connected Families. For over 20 years, Julie has been equipping women and churches to walk alongside those who are hurting with grace and truth.
Julie and her husband live in Dallas, Texas, and are the parents of three children.
Details:
Doors open at 6 PM and the event starts at 6:30 PM.
Looking for dinner plans? We're encouraging women to eat dinner together at one of three nearby Pleasanton restaurants: Brava, Sultan's, or Porky's. For those who would rather eat at VCC, we will have Panera catered for dinner.

Deck the Halls
Let’s Deck the Halls! On Sunday, November 23, right after the 11 AM service, we’re kicking off Advent with Christmas cheer, lunch, and family fun as we decorate VCC for the season.

5th-8th Grade Winter Camp
We’re heading up to Heavenly Hills Christian Camp for an unforgettable winter weekend filled with snow (hopefully), laughter, and life-changing moments with God! Winter Camp is the perfect mid-year retreat—a chance to take a break from the usual routine, grow closer to your friends, and deepen your faith.
What is Winter Camp?
Winter Camp is a 5th-8th Grade retreat that is a weekend all about connection—with God and with one another. Students will enjoy worship sessions, teaching, and tons of time to play, rest, and have fun together. Each day includes morning chapel, recreation, free time, and evening sessions packed with games, worship, and opportunities to experience God in new ways.
Location
Heavenly Hills Christian Camp is a beautiful mountain retreat nestled in the pines of Twain Harte. The camp features cozy cabins, great food, and plenty of space for games, worship, and time outdoors (and maybe even snow!).
How will we get there?
We’ll be traveling together by bus! All students will check in and depart from Valley Community Church at 4 PM on Friday, January 16, 2026. Pickup will take place at VCC at 1 PM on Monday, January 19, 2026.
Cost
The early-bird price is $330, due at registration, $100 of which is non-refundable. After December 16, the price will increase to $350. If cost would prevent your student from attending, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We never want finances to be the reason a student misses Winter Camp!

Baptism is a powerful symbol of new life. It’s a way to publicly declare the transformation God has already begun in you—marking a step of faith, obedience, and belonging in His story. If you haven’t been baptized yet, we invite you to take this step.
Sign up for one of our upcoming baptisms, and we’ll walk with you through the journey. A baptism class is held two weeks before to help you understand its significance and prepare for this meaningful moment (Matt. 28:19, Acts 2:38–41).

Men's Book Study
We believe spiritual growth happens best in honest, consistent fellowship. This fall, we invite you to walk in the light with us as we read STEPS: A Guide to Transforming Your Life When Willpower Isn't Enough by John Ortberg. This biblical and practical book explores how lasting change happens not by doubling down on effort, but by cooperating with God's grace through clear, intentional steps of spiritual growth. Groups meet Mondays and Thursdays.

Men's Light Night
Men’s Light Night: Becoming Like-Hearted
Campfires • Sausages • Brotherhood
Most of us want brotherhood—but what we actually have is a group chat and a calendar that says otherwise. We long for connection, but we’re tired. Overloaded. Stuck. What if the answer isn’t more hustle, better time management, or a perfect system?
There is an answer. This month’s Light Night is inspired by Morgan Snyder’s Becoming a King, and the idea of becoming like-hearted—not just like-minded or like-scheduled. Like-hearted men walk in the light together, fight for one another’s gardens, and refuse to settle for surface-level friendship.
Expect cornhole and games, campfires, grilled sausages, and a short word to stir your heart. You’ll leave full—but more importantly, connected.
$10 | Bring your own camping chair and a friend. Let’s build something real.

Lunch & Learn w/ the Talleys
Join us for a special Lunch & Learn as we hear from Melinda Talley, a longtime VCC mission partner serving in Málaga, Spain with Novo. Her heart is to create safe, Spirit-led spaces where Spaniards can encounter Jesus—through spiritual companionship, healing prayer, creative discipleship, and practical acts of love in her neighborhood.
You'll be encouraged by her stories of walking with not-yet-believers, nurturing new leaders, and awakening a generation to join God’s redemptive work in Málaga and beyond. Whether through coaching, counseling, marriage resources, or everyday conversations over coffee, the Talleys are living out the Gospel in powerful, everyday ways.
Come be inspired—and discover how you can pray for and support what God is doing in Spain. Lunch is provided!

Baptism & BBQ
There’s nothing like celebrating God transforming lives—and we can’t wait for our Baptism & BBQ coming up on Sunday, August 3 in the Gathering Place! If you’ve never been baptized, this is an incredible opportunity to take that next step and be part of a powerful celebration with our church family.
Baptism is a public declaration of the new life Jesus brings—a step of faith, obedience, and belonging. To prepare, join us for our next Baptism Class on Sunday, July 20, where you’ll learn more about its meaning and what to expect.
Take the next step—register for the July 20 Baptism Class today.

Movin’ On Up Sunday

Preschool and younger kids will continue in classes based on their age, but for everyone else, it’s a new chapter and a great time to get connected.
