DivorceCare
Whether you are in the first few days of separation, many years into your healing, or anywhere in between, DivorceCare is here to walk with you. This Christ-centered support group offers care, wisdom, and community for anyone navigating the pain of separation or divorce.
DivorceCare meets on Thursdays from 6:30-8:30 PM, beginning August 28 through November 20.
Please email divorcecare@vc.church with any questions.
About DivorceCare
DivorceCare is a 13-week program in which all sessions stand alone, so one can join at any time. Although no religious affiliation is required, it is a Bible-based program which encourages that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the foundation for healing. Group guidelines stress confidentiality so that members feel safe in sharing their experiences.
Over the 13 weeks, the group will cover the following topics:
What's Happening to Me?
The Road to Healing/Finding Help
Facing My Anger
Facing My Depression
Facing My Loneliness
What Does The Owner's Manual Say?
New Relationships
Financial Survival
Kid Care
Single Sexuality
Forgiveness
Reconciliation
Moving On, Growing Closer to God
The sessions are divided into three parts:
A short discussion of the prior week's brief homework section
A video note-taking outline where counselors, psychologists, pastors and people who have gone through divorce talk about the week's topic by sharing their experiences
A wrap-up discussion on this week's viewed video
DivorceCare leaders are not professional counselors, but those who have experienced divorce firsthand. They understand the pain and fears as well as the other emotions involved in the divorce process and have made a commitment to encourage each member by praying for them and keeping in touch with them even after the final session.
There is $20.00 fee to cover the materials.

Men's Book Study
We believe spiritual growth happens best in honest, consistent fellowship. This fall, we invite you to walk in the light with us as we read STEPS: A Guide to Transforming Your Life When Willpower Isn't Enough by John Ortberg. This biblical and practical book explores how lasting change happens not by doubling down on effort, but by cooperating with God's grace through clear, intentional steps of spiritual growth. Groups meet Mondays and Thursdays.

Bible Study Fellowship
Looking for a way to grow in Scripture Meditation and Life Together? Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) meets Monday nights at VCC starting September 8. This fall, BSF will explore “The Exile and Return”—a powerful study through the books of 2 Kings, Daniel, Ezra, Nehemiah, and more. BSF offers in-depth Bible study for men, women, children, and students, all in a welcoming, discussion-based environment.
VCC has been honored to host BSF for over 35 years, and we’re excited to invite you to be part of it.

VCC Kids ComGroup
Kids ComGroup Is Back — Make Wednesdays the Best Night of the Week!
Kids ComGroup is back this fall, and we can’t wait to welcome your kids for a season full of faith, friendships, and fun! Each Wednesday night, kids will gather from 6:45–8:15PM (September 10 – May 7) to enjoy games, Bible stories, and small group discussions designed to help them grow closer to God and one another. Families are also invited to share a free dinner together at 6:00PM in The Gathering Place before the program begins.
From preschoolers to elementary students, every child will experience a safe, joyful environment where they can learn, laugh, and build lasting friendships. Preschoolers (ages 3–5) will enjoy engaging playtime and age-appropriate Bible lessons, while elementary kids (K–5th grade) will dive into meaningful small group conversations and fun activities.
Registration is now open—don’t miss the opportunity to give your child a midweek experience that will impact their faith and friendships for years to come.

Way of Apprenticeship Course
In a fragmented world, many of us see life in bits and pieces, missing the bigger picture. This class aims to present a clear and practical vision of how following Jesus leads to true human flourishing. We'll explore what it means to be His apprentice by connecting biblical theology, apologetics, and spiritual formation into a unified whole. Together, we'll learn how to reshape our imagination and transform our daily habits under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Curious about how to truly follow Jesus? Come and see.
Join us for dinner at 6 PM. We will start right at 6:45 PM in the Sanctuary.

Sign up for one of our upcoming baptisms, and we’ll walk with you through the journey. A baptism class is held two weeks before to help you understand its significance and prepare for this meaningful moment (Matt. 28:19, Acts 2:38–41).

Men's Light Night
Men’s Light Night: Becoming Like-Hearted
Campfires • Sausages • Brotherhood
Most of us want brotherhood—but what we actually have is a group chat and a calendar that says otherwise. We long for connection, but we’re tired. Overloaded. Stuck. What if the answer isn’t more hustle, better time management, or a perfect system?
There is an answer. This month’s Light Night is inspired by Morgan Snyder’s Becoming a King, and the idea of becoming like-hearted—not just like-minded or like-scheduled. Like-hearted men walk in the light together, fight for one another’s gardens, and refuse to settle for surface-level friendship.
Expect cornhole and games, campfires, grilled sausages, and a short word to stir your heart. You’ll leave full—but more importantly, connected.
$10 | Bring your own camping chair and a friend. Let’s build something real.

Lunch & Learn w/ the Talleys
Join us for a special Lunch & Learn as we hear from Melinda Talley, a longtime VCC mission partner serving in Málaga, Spain with Novo. Her heart is to create safe, Spirit-led spaces where Spaniards can encounter Jesus—through spiritual companionship, healing prayer, creative discipleship, and practical acts of love in her neighborhood.
You'll be encouraged by her stories of walking with not-yet-believers, nurturing new leaders, and awakening a generation to join God’s redemptive work in Málaga and beyond. Whether through coaching, counseling, marriage resources, or everyday conversations over coffee, the Talleys are living out the Gospel in powerful, everyday ways.
Come be inspired—and discover how you can pray for and support what God is doing in Spain. Lunch is provided!

Baptism & BBQ
There’s nothing like celebrating God transforming lives—and we can’t wait for our Baptism & BBQ coming up on Sunday, August 3 in the Gathering Place! If you’ve never been baptized, this is an incredible opportunity to take that next step and be part of a powerful celebration with our church family.
Baptism is a public declaration of the new life Jesus brings—a step of faith, obedience, and belonging. To prepare, join us for our next Baptism Class on Sunday, July 20, where you’ll learn more about its meaning and what to expect.
Take the next step—register for the July 20 Baptism Class today.

Movin’ On Up Sunday

Preschool and younger kids will continue in classes based on their age, but for everyone else, it’s a new chapter and a great time to get connected.
