Pastoral Counseling & Care
Pastoral counseling at Valley Community Church is a form of short-term care (one to four sessions) focused on helping you find clarity, encouragement, and biblical wisdom for the season you’re in. Our pastors offer spiritual guidance and prayer to help you consider your situation in light of God’s Word and His work in your life.
Pastoral counseling is not long-term therapy or clinical mental health treatment. If your needs involve ongoing emotional distress, trauma recovery, or specialized support, please see below for professional counseling recommendations.

Premarital Counseling
We utilize the SYMBIS assessment to facilitate premarital conversations. The goal of premarital counseling is to help you enter into marriage with the strongest foundation possible. For more information, please contact dane@vc.church.
When to Seek Professional Care
Mental health counseling, also called therapy, is a form of professional care. Sometimes, it is challenging to discern when it is necessary to seek professional care for yourself, your child, your marriage, or your family. If you find yourself continuously suffering from mental health issues that interfere with your day-to-day life, you may benefit from going to therapy. Therapists and counselors are highly skilled professionals who are trained to address a variety of mental health concerns. With the right fit, they can help alleviate the impact of those concerns and work towards achieving the goals you set for your time in therapy.
