Xtreme Camp

Xtreme Camp for 6th-8th-grade students is here!

We will be heading over to Felton, CA (Santa Cruz County) for a fun week of everything that makes our summer camps so great: tons of time to be with your friends, memorable activities, and huge opportunities to grow in your faith. We hope this summer is one that each middle schooler will remember for years to come!

What is Xtreme Camp?
Xtreme Camp is our annual summer camp connected with Refuge Middle School Ministry at Valley Community Church. This camp is an opportunity to retreat from our normal fast-paced schedules, emphasize building community, and create a space where students can experience the presence of God.

Each day typically consists of a morning chapel session, a big rec game between breakfast and lunch, another chapel session, free time, a night session after dinner, and—finally—night rec activities!

Small Group Events

On February 11, Refuge small groups get to decide what they would like to do! This could be an on-campus event (movie night, nerf night, painting night), or an off-campus event at a home or public space. In the February 10 email, Kyle will send out the locations of all the groups with their drop-off and pick-up times. Please don't miss it! Groups will discuss their options over the next few weeks, and we will provide food for each group!

WidowCare Workday

Students & Parents!

Join us on Saturday, November 15 to team up and serve the widows in our community. We'll be breaking into teams and doing some yard work, hanging Christmas lights, cleaning, and doing some other jobs. We've done this for years now, and students always have a great experience, and the widows are always so grateful. It's an easy way to help in a real way.

We have a much higher number of widows signed up this year than in years prior, so we really need the help! We also really need some adults to help out at the houses and drive students. This is a great way to serve with your kids!

We start at 8:30 AM at VCC and are usually wrapped up before noon, depending on how much help we can get.

We will start playing right at 6:45, so please try to be there at 6:30 to sign up for teams!

Movin’ On Up Sunday

Movin’ On Up Sunday

Move On Up Sunday is happening July 6!

It’s that special time of year when all children and students officially move up to their next grade level. From Pre-K (if entering Kindergarten this fall) through 12th grade, everyone will step into their new classrooms and age-specific environments.

Preschool and younger kids will continue in classes based on their age, but for everyone else, it’s a new chapter and a great time to get connected.

We love watching each child grow, and we’re excited to walk with them through this next season!
