About DivorceCare

DivorceCare is a 13-week program in which all sessions stand alone, so one can join at any time. Although no religious affiliation is required, it is a Bible-based program which encourages that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the foundation for healing. Group guidelines stress confidentiality so that members feel safe in sharing their experiences.

Over the 13 weeks, the group will cover the following topics:

  • What's Happening to Me?

  • The Road to Healing/Finding Help

  • Facing My Anger

  • Facing My Depression

  • Facing My Loneliness

  • What Does The Owner's Manual Say?

  • New Relationships

  • Financial Survival

  • Kid Care

  • Single Sexuality

  • Forgiveness

  • Reconciliation

  • Moving On, Growing Closer to God

The sessions are divided into three parts:

  1. A short discussion of the prior week's brief homework section

  2. A video note-taking outline where counselors, psychologists, pastors and people who have gone through divorce talk about the week's topic by sharing their experiences

  3. A wrap-up discussion on this week's viewed video

DivorceCare leaders are not professional counselors, but those who have experienced divorce firsthand. They understand the pain and fears as well as the other emotions involved in the divorce process and have made a commitment to encourage each member by praying for them and keeping in touch with them even after the final session.

There is $20.00 fee to cover the materials.
